Here is a novel of profound wisdom and amazing insight. This story belongs to any woman and every man who has ever struggled with their destinies. Heralded by the Humane Society of the United States as revealing journey about the importance of animals and our environment to our whole existence both spiritual and physical and pitched as Conversations with God meets Dr. Dolittle, this novel reconnects man with the wisdom of an intelligent planet. Jane Morgan is standing at the corner of “The Rest of Your Life” and “Welcome to Reality.” Laid off from her first job as a staff writer for a prominent Atlanta newspaper and struggling in a dysfunctional relationship, Jane finds herself ill-equipped to navigate her world. Disillusioned, miserable and angry with God, she retreats to a cabin in the Smoky Mountains to take stock of the life she’s created so far. Unwilling to drift along accepting whatever life throws her way, she begs for guidance and direction. When a bump on the head unlocks a marvelous seventh sense in Jane; she discovers she is able to hear the voices of the animals and plants that share this planet with us. Guided by Max, a stray dog, she is led beyond the veil of a world she thought she knew into a secreted reality few ever witness. With Max at her side, Jane finds nature’s blueprint for living, spoken from the lips of those who embody the wisdom. Chapter by chapter Jane is privy to life lessons revealed by Grandfather Oak, the Great Snake, Grandmother Willow, White Bear and others, whose stories empower her personal journey. (Fromamazon.com)

Shift of the Ages

In his first official discourse to the world, leader of the Mayan people, Grand Elder Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, a.k.a. “Wandering Wolf,” reveals the truth about Mayan prophecy in the new documentary, “Shift of the Ages: A Mayan Journey Through Time.”

Commonly known and accepted as superb mathematicians and astronomers who devised one of the most accurate calendars known to man, The Maya speak of a year “zero,” which was thought by some scholars to be 2012. “Shift of the Ages” follows the rise of Wandering Wolf, a born spiritual leader destined to unite humanity and carry out Mayan prophecy. Through story, he teaches how this “zero” time period is what the Maya refer to as the “change of the suns,” and clarifies it as a transition process, not a singular day. Wandering Wolf travels the world, meeting with spiritual and indigenous leaders, with an urgent message about the role human consciousness plays in making this transition.

Set against the backdrop of the end of the Mayan Long Count calendar, “Shift of the Ages” is a tightly woven tapestry of human drama and cultural history that takes you on an adventure into the heart of the Maya, their ancient spiritual traditions and sophisticated culture. The film beautifully illustrates the power of the human spirit.

tsc74: Waltz or Hokey Pokey ~ Rev. Lyle

Over the past three weeks Rev. Ali has talked quite eloquently about Devotion … about dedication to your own transformation.

About not being devoted to something outside of yourself … but … committing to … yourself.

Last week she talked about “OPT IN”  … Observation, Participation and Transformation.

The question was are you devoted ………. to You?

This is your life … are you ready for change … for a transformation … for a lighter, happier, easier, more fulfilling, conscious, awake and aware Life?

Are you ready to set some goals and make some plans … to visualize better… to meditate calmer… to dream bigger?

Are you ready to step it up … to dance … to move?

Good … Let’s get started.

Truth is … it is very simple … and not always very easy.

It starts with … Awareness.

And you may not know it … but you all have already, taken the first step … because you are here!

You have become Aware of a … calling … a need to do something differently … an impulse or a drive to try something else.

Maybe you just like the company … you don’t have a specific thing in mind … it just feels good.  It is easy and comfortable.  You just like being here.

You didn’t know it, but you were ready for a change.

One definition of insanity … is to keep doing what you always do, but expect a different outcome.

If we were mice in a maze and kept going down the same aisle that led to a dead end, to pain and suffering … and we kept doing it over and over and over … always surprised that … wow this hurts … that behavior almost did me in … I think I’ll try it again.

Now that’s crazy.  But, isn’t that what we all do?

Same relationships over and over.  Same crumby job, no matter where I work.  Every time we get together, you make me so mad.

Could it be …ME???

Could it be time I dedicate some attention to ME?

To my well-being … to my growth … to my Spiritual journey.

Is that possible I keep going down the same path of destruction?  By my own choice…?

Yes … it is.  And when you realize it … you are ready for step 2.

Now … earlier I said you had already accomplished step 1 by being aware … now I want you to know you have also accomplished step 2.

Step 2 … Do Something Different.  You came here … or somewhere like here.  You took a step.

And doesn’t every dance begin with the first step.  And that step might be a New Thought.

Ernest Holmes says …

Change your thinking change your life.

Do something different.  If what you are doing is Not bringing you happiness, then stop doing … that.

Now here it might get a little tricky and you may not get it in one week … so you will have to come listen to more of Rev. Ali’s talks or take some classes.  Because it is not always easy to define (exactly) what it is you are doing … that is not working.

It may take some work, some internal work on your part to find out … who you really are … what are your standards in life … what do you Really want … where are you going … what are you committed or dedicated … or, devoted to?

Did you ever see the movie “Run Away Bride”  – with Julia Roberts.  She keeps getting engaged but then at the last moment realizes this is not what she wants, so she bolts.  See, the movie brings out that she doesn’t really know who she is … what she likes or doesn’t like … what she wants to do with her life.  She kept adapting to her fiancé’s wants and desires, and never realized her own.  Richard Geer discovered that each past fiancé thought her favorite way to have eggs was just like his (and each was different) … … she didn’t know what she herself liked best.

Do you know … what you want?

Hmmm … do you know your favorite dance ??

Because now I am going to have some fun with the theme of the month … and with my talk title.  Because I am going to talk about the different dances we do to – avoid.

First I must share with you that I am not a dancer, so don’t expect any demonstrations … and I may even get the terms wrong – so have patience with me.

Now, we don’t want to be hurtful or mean.  What I am talking about is … we are not always honest with ourselves.

Like this –

I … want to live a life of committed and dedicated adherence to my Spiritual path.  Meditate daily … read daily … practice random acts of kindness … and pay it forward … to interface with everyone without judgment …  to live without fear or anger.  Take more classes … teach more classes … pray daily … forgive daily … write more … minister more … Love more … and Love unconditionally.

I do.

But then I get Reasonable … and start the “Spiritual Shuffle”.  A little side stepping maybe.

Here’s me … a few years back.  Remember – really shy.

It kinda looks like this … I’d like to go talk to that person … maybe step out of my comfort zone … say Hi

Buuuuut … I better get my coffee before they run out.  Ya know … with all these people here it will run out pretty quickly.  I’ll be right back … shuffle shuffle.

Or darn they are busy talking to someone else … just my poor luck.  Next time.

Or like this …

I would like to take that class … it could transform my life in a huge way.  It is a lot of work, and a lot of reading … and it may even get a little uncomfortable if I have to confront … you know, that shy me.  But I am worth it … and I really want to learn more about myself.

IF … only it were not on Tuesday night … that’s my bowling night.  And there’s a little tap dance.

So what dance do you guys do …?

Is your life a beautiful … flowing … classy – Waltz?

Or

Is your life more like … the Hokey Pokey!!

You know … you test the waters of change or your own spirituality … you put one foot in, and take one foot out.  It can be scary … it’s hard to stay committed.  You try the other foot … but that’s a little shakey too.  Life deals you another twist so you throw your hands in the air and do the hokey pokey.

What would it take to actually turn your life around..?

I’ll tell you what … some consistency, some dedication and some devotion.

To yourself.

And yes I am poking fun of the excuses we make to not fully participate in Life.  But it is something we all do.

We side step … we get all twisted up, and down, and all around … just like we did last summer.

We twist and turn to avoid the uncomfortable.

But what you may not know  … is that the Universe is more consistent, and dedicated and devoted (and I might say – stubborn) than you are … about your own expressions.  Of who you are and what you want.

Rev. Ali said this last week … good or bad … the Universe Loves to say YES!

Not only what you say … but what you feel inside.

I should be ashamed … YES … here comes something more to be ashamed about.

I am bad … I should be punished … YES … and here it comes.

But – also … I am really happy and I love life today.

Yes … and here comes someone and they smiled and said hi to me.  That makes me feel good.

Oh and look – what a pretty flower … I didn’t see that before.  How nice.  Oh and here comes some more.

But wait … this is too good to be true … wow … guess what’s coming next…?

Get the picture?

And can’t you see all of the dancing we do to avoid …

How about the moon walk … it looks like you’re walking forward but you’re actually going backwards.

And it is not always avoidance … I know that.  Sometimes we are enjoying life and loving the moment, and we hold on tight and slow dance.  Beautiful.

Now…

We really do attract things into our lives with our thoughts and our outpouring of energy.

Haven’t you ever noticed that the same things or situations keep coming up.  You keep hearing about a certain book from many different sources.  Hmmmm.

Or

You keep seeing people that remind you of friend you haven’t seen in a long time.  And then that person calls.

Life lessons maybe?  Something you want to do maybe, but keep dancing around.

Going back to school … telling someone you are sorry … telling someone you love them … fix that darn broken sprinkler.  And remember, it may not be the sprinkler … it is a life lesson about whatever makes sense in your head.

This month is about devotion.  About being willing to dedicate time and energy to yourself … to your own spiritual growth.

Yes, it usually takes work.

But hey … like most dances … it keeps coming around so you might as well get on with it.  There is a reason you have been seeking.  There is a reason you were drawn here.  And I’m not saying it is me you came to see … it could be the person you are sitting next to … or the person you talk to after while drinking some tea.

It takes devotion and some courage to be able to move from …

Asleep – to Awake

From

Unconscious to Conscious

From the book “Strays” (several of you are reading this right now).

Well on page 18 she says …”sometimes you are standing in a pile of rubble, and you are afraid to play another card … terrified that you’re headed for another disaster.”  Then she is reminded by one of her guides … “remember the day of your first ballet recital.  You were so afraid to go on stage, scared you’d forget the steps or loose your timing …

And yet you still went on.  You overcame your fear and your doubts.  You refused to be defeated … and you danced.  The Joy of the moment still shines.”

When you dance around it … but dance with it … you have taken the next step.  And you are on the way to learning … what you want.

So … let me ask you a question.

“How Do You Define Your Life”

I’ll tell you … you start by asking yourself …

“What Do You Love”

You are not defined by the fear of dancing … or the long hours of training … and maybe not even the performing.

You are defined by the … overcoming.  It is the Joy you feel when you danced anyway … that is what sets the moment as a defining moment.

I am not the fear … I am the rising up after I fell, and danced anyway …  that is the defining moment.

AND – SO – THE – LESSON – BEGINS

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.”

Laid off from her first job as a staff writer for an Atlanta newspaper and stuck in a dysfunctional relationship, Jane retreats to a cabin in the Smokey Mountains to demand guidance from a so-far silent God. When she accidentally falls and hits her head, she acquires a seventh sense that allows her to understand the language of animals and plants. Her divine guidance comes in the form of an abandoned stray dog and a cast of unusual characters who describe their purpose here on earth through enchanting and profound stories. With the animals and plants insights leading her, Jane finds enlightenment, authenticity, personal empowerment, and travels out of confusion and complexity into a world of simplicity and personal choice. As she recaptures her own true nature, she discovers that even the most lost can eventually find their way home. (From amazon.com)

tsc71:Devoted to my Divinity ~ Rev. Ali

Devoted = very loving or loyal.

I am Devoted to my Divinity

I am a devoted practitioner – I care deeply about helping people.

Devoted = given over to the display, study, or discussion of.

My goddess art is devoted to helping empower women.

Divinity = the state or quality of being divine.

Higher Self, Awakened.

Devotion ~ Divinity ~ Desire

Are you ready to accept the gift of your divinity?

Are you willing to grow? Expand? Express yourself in a larger way?

Do you have resistance to being your greatest self?

What if you stopped running from your self – turned around – and said, “How you doing?”

Are you feeling a divine discontent with how your life is currently?

What if that situation that is bothering you the most was resolved?

How would your life be different?

This is the life you were born to live!

Science of Mind teaches us that we are body, mind, and spirit or soul.

Our divine self, is that which has a body and a mind. The divine spark within us is the aspect of us that has the urge to live and to love and to be happy.

To be truly divine or awakened to one’s divine nature, there are things we have to recognize – we have been domesticated and have to let go of the fear, self-hatred, and the ‘good’ behavior that we’re driven to by our parents, families, teachers, governments, and humanity in general.

To realize your divinity – to live in alignment with your divine identity – you will have to look beyond the physical world, the world that the news tells us is bad, wrong… And see with new eyes – the eyes behind the eyes that see love, grace, happiness, wholeness.

Can you be devoted to truly loving yourself?

Do you feel worthy of truly loving yourself?

“Our stresses, anxieties, pains, and problems arise because we do not see the world, others, or even ourselves as worthy of love.” Prem Prakash

“Worthiness, in very simple terms, means I have found a way to let the Energy reach me, the Energy that is natural, reach me. Worthiness, or unworthiness, is something that is pronounced upon you by you. You are the only one that can deem yourself worthy or unworthy. You are the only one who can love yourself into a state of allowing, or hate yourself in a state of disallowing. We are all just, in the moment, practicing the art of not allowing, or the art of resisting.” Abraham

Can you become a better allower of love into your life?

“Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.” Tagore

Can you devote to have an intimate relationship with yourself?

Intimacy – in to me I see.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” Buddha

Devoted to Being…

Being Me – being you to the full

Beautiful ~ Be you to the full – beautiful.

Being in Love – Being present in the love that you are

Love is our ground state – it is our existent

Your essential state is love – what distorts that is that we look outside for love.

Stop looking for the right person – be the right person.

You soul – your deepest self – is beyond your self image – your true self – it is love.

So in your actions in the world, just ask yourself, “If I made this choice, am I loving myself?” “If I really love myself would I make this choice?”

How you speak to a person – how you take care of your body – how you treat your children, parents – what foods you choose to eat.

Then listen – intuitively you know the right answer.

Ask for more love – remember to be in love – being in love – on the inside.

Being – who you are.

In love – expressing love in all that you do. As the sun shines on all alike, you can shine your love into each moment of your life. Like heat from a bonfire.

Divine qualities of your soul are – love, kindness, compassion, empathy, joy, equanimity (mental calmness.)

Radiate these and you will experience true freedom and bliss.

You will being living as your Essential Self – your divinity.

When you are devoted to the god within – you will be living the life you were born to live.

Let go of control – do not struggle with the universe.

We can influence our futures – thoughts, words, actions.

We have four levels of existence, being, feeling, thinking, and doing.

Essentially we are human beings, and we are:

Human thinkings

Human feelings

Human doings

When we awaken to our Divinity, we are aware that we think, feel, and do.

BE aware that you are here to BE living your divinity.

Then we will have lightness of soul – this is our essential state, then there is love,

In Vedic tradition love is, Sat Chit Ananda

Sat = Truth

Chit = Consciousness – certain properties, intuition, insight, choice,

Ananda = Bliss

This is who you are!

But we have a tendency to mess this up by trying to control, by trying to manipulate,

by regretting the past, by fearing the future – you’ve lost love.

We are here to evolve the One Life – it happens through us.

It happens as we awaken and ask ourselves important questions like:

Who am I?

What is my calling?

What do I desire?

What am I going to do about that?

How can I share it with humanity?

Devoted to Seeing the Divinity in Others ~ Oneness

Namaste’ – definitions

Sanskrit:

Namah = bow

te = to you

Namaste’ ~ I bow to you

Namaste’ as a gesture is used to greet one another. It’s a gesture of respect that can be used globally between people of all age, race, and gender. Totally encompassing the belief that “we are one.” Hands together at heart center represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra.

Namaste’ – My soul recognizes your soul. I honor the light, love, beauty, truth, and kindness that is within you because it is also within me. In sharing these things there is no distance and no difference between us. We are the same, we are one.

I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides.

I honor the place in you of love, light, of truth, of peace.

I honor the place in you where, if you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, We are one.

In Closing

“In the end these things matter most:

How well did you love?

How fully did you live?

How deeply did you let go?

Buddha

Thank you ~ Namaste’
