The nights are getting longer and longer and the days shorter and shorter, but light is on the horizon!  The Winter Solstice is just around the corner and this marks the time when the sun appears to stand still in the sky and the nights begin to grow sorter and the days longer as the sun makes it return.

During this time of year there are so many lights – lights decorating houses and Christmas trees, candle lighting services, carols and songs about following stars and light…  I am reminded of the light that each of us carry in our heart and mind.  The Buddha said, “Be a light unto yourself.”

My message for you this week is to remember that you are love, loved, lovable, and worthy of a beautiful life.  So, shine and share your love light with everyone you meet, it’s a gift that keeps on giving!

I am a light unto myself.I light up my life with self-love and appreciation.I shine and share my light with the world!

Tis’ the season to be jolly, really!?  The most wonderful time of the year?  For many this is true.  But for some, this time of year can bring extra stress with all the added pressures society bombards us with.  Buying presents, parties, over eating, travel, family obligations and expectations, etc., all of this can cause worry and anxiety.

Here, from the Mayo Clinic, are 10 suggestions for managing holiday stress:

1. Acknowledge your feelings.
2. Reach out.
3. Be realistic.
4. Set aside differences.
5. Stick to a budget.
6. Plan ahead.
7. Learn to say no.
8. Don’t abandon healthy habits.
9. Take a breather.
10. Seek profession help if you need it.

Please remember that we have a team of licensed professional Spiritual Living Practitioners always available to support you through life’s ups and downs.  And remember to breathe and know that right where you are God is.
